Happy Birthday to the Lead Singers in the Emo Trinity

In the month of April three singers were born and later were put into the Emo Trinity. The singer from My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way, was born on April 9 1977 in  Summit, New Jersey. Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy was born on April 27, 1984 in Evanston, Illinois. And Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco was born on April 12, 1987 in Summerlin, Nevada. They are all very talented singers and their voices are all very different. They (along with the rest of their bands) are what make the Emo Trinity genuinely different from other music groups. I would very much like to see them in concert sometime, but My Chemical Romance is no longer a band. I wouldve gone to Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll tour, which included the performances of Panic! at the Disco and Twenty One Pilots, although the tickets sold out before I can get to them.

Emo Trinity

The Emo Trinity consists of three bands. My Chemical Romance (MCR), Panic! at the Disco (P!ATD) and Fall Out Boy (FOB).

My Chemical Romance (2001-2013) consisted of the members Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, Frank lero and James Dewees. They were classified as a pop-punk, punk-rock, and emo band. They created four studio albums: I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love (2002), Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (2004), The Black Parade (2006) and Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Sadly MCR broke up in 2013..

Panic! at the Disco (2004-present) consists of the members Brendon Urie, Dallon Weekes, Kenneth Harris, and Dan Pawlovich. They are a pop/rock band. They currently have five albums: A Fever You Cant Sweat Out (2005), Pretty. Odd. (2008), Vices & Virtues (2011), Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die (2013), and Death of a Bachelor (2016).

Fall Out Boy (2001-2009, 2013-present) is made up of the members Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, Andy Hurley and Pete Wentz. They are a pop-punk, pop/rock band. They went on a hiatus and Patrick started a solo career while others went on to different projects. After some years Pete reached out to Patrick to try writing again. Their break ended in 2013 and they soon released an album called Save Rock and Roll. These are their albums: Take This To Your Grave (2003), From Under The Cork Tree (2005), Infinity on High (2007), Folie a Deux (2008), Save Rock and Roll (2013), and American Beauty/American Psycho (2015).

Blurryface Part Two

Blurryface continued..

The official blurryface account posted a picture of symbols and random letters which decoded into an email address. Some people sent emails to them and instantly got replies that said "Its not over." and in the email address it included the letters "t", "i", and "b" which had people assume it meant "tonight it begins". People went on the website tonightitbegins.com which had shown posts which had been deleted and it seemed very suspicious. In the top right corner of the website it had an address. If this address was to be put into google maps it would've shown a suburban town in Ohio. if you zoom in very closely it'll show someone who is wearing a red beanie which is Tyler's signature accessory. People started believing that Tyler grew up in that town. Rumor has it, when someone goes to that address they would get attacked. It has not been confirmed yet, but it is what people have been saying.

Blurryface

This blog post is going to be about a past event happening in the Twenty One Pilots fandom.

Blurryface is a manifestation of Tyler Josephs thoughts and insecurities. He is very protective of Blurryface and he doesn't like it to be overused. He uses Blurryface to channel his inner thoughts and has made a twitter account (@blurryface) which the band uses to announce really important news. In the past it has been used to postpone the release of their music videos.

About a month ago a couple new twitter accounts were made under the influence that it was Blurryface. One telling their fans they need sleep, and another telling them they need to die. One usually used binary code to send messages toward their fans. It once said something that translated to "only me. no one else, only me." Which led the fans to panic. They didn't know what was going on and it led them to believe that Tyler was having a mental breakdown. After that one incident everyone thought it was over and that he is going to be fine.

R5 on St. Patrick's Day

Image result for r5 st patricks day
Picture was taken before the show in Iowa on March 17, 2016
For those of you who don't know, the Lynches are part Irish. They barely show their love for their heritage, but St. Patrick's Day is a totally different story. Every year they throw a huge party to celebrate. Last year they threw a party at their house and invited people from Dancing With The Stars, Disney, and their family and friends. They went swimming, barbecued, painted themselves green... They take this holiday really seriously. This year they had an even bigger party. It wasn't at their house, unless their house can fit over three thousand people. They had a party on tour. They spent their St. Patrick's Day in Sioux City, Iowa. They had balloons, they had streamers and they had the music. That night was probably their best night on tour. They went all out with decorations and their green outfits. They seem to care about this holiday a lot and it shows how much they cherish this tradition and their history

R5 Going On A Year Long Break?

Apparently R5 is going on a year long break after their tour ends. I don't really know how to feel about this. Yes, they deserve a break from all of the shows they have been doing, but I will miss the pictures from all of the shows and all of the nights they  stay up until four in the morning tweeting about how awesome the show was the night before. This isn't confirmed yet so I shouldn't really be getting too sad about this yet. In a video, they were discussing the break and how they wanted to make their next album better than the albums they have released so far. This actually gives them more time to explore more opportunities for publicity and maybe some acting jobs. Ross is actually going to be filming another movie soon, rumored to be called "Status Update", although this time it isn't going to be a Disney movie. Although this break can bring sadness upon a lot of R5's fans, I believe this is a good opportunity for them.

Ilona's Q&A #2

This is a continuation of my last blog post.

Has R5's music gone downhill?
--I think their music is going uphill. As they grow, their musical talent is growing with them.

Do you think they are hiding something?
--I don't really think they are hiding anything at the moment. 4/5 of them are taken and they seem very happy with their relationships.

What is you favorite color?
--I like the color blue because its cool and can be pretty when its really light and when its really dark.

Who is your favorite member of R5?
-- My favorite member is Riker because he is dorky and funny when he isn't trying to be.

Who is your favorite member of Fall Out Boy?
--I don't really have a favorite.. They are all very talented and committed to their music, so I cant really choose one favorite member.

What is your favorite Panic! At The Disco song?
--I cant choose one favorite, but some of my most favorite are I Write Sins Not Tragedies, This Is Gospel and Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time.

Ilona's Q&A

I have asked some of my friends to ask questions about my blog, about me and other topics of their choice.

What do you think about R5's new music?
--I like most of R5's new music, but some of their songs from the new album aren't the type of songs I usually listen to. Their newer songs are more about love, while their older ones are more about having fun.

Do you think they've improved as a band?
--They are always improving. In my eyes they are always growing and improving, but they aren't getting nominated for any awards. I understand that they love touring and meeting fans, but sometimes its good to show off awards and nominations.

How do their concerts start off?
--The concerts usually start with some other band opening the show and getting the crowd pumped and then Ryland gets the crowd even more excited. After Ryland, R5 finally starts their concert.

Merch Review #2 - Accessories

This is going to be a Part two to the Merch Reviews, only this time its accessories.

"Sometime Last Night iPhone 6 Case"
($15) This phone case is protective of the screen, although it is not a case you would want to use if you know you will accidentally drop your phone. The design is a good contrast to the background color. The price isn't as bad as most phone cases that are made of this material.

"Silicon Bracelet Set"
($10) This set of bracelets come in the colors green, pink, yellow, purple and blue. These bracelets are a bit uncomfortable when you wear it with long sleeve shirts or on a hot day, but otherwise they are really cool. I wouldn't wear them often because when they get dirty they are a little difficult to clean. Everything will stick to this material. Other than cleaning difficulties I believe this is a good piece of merchandise to buy.

"Gold Guitar Pick Necklace"
($20) These necklaces can last up to 2 years (or even more), but if they are put in water they will start to rust and the paint will start to chip. These necklaces have the original R5 symbol on them. I bought one of these, but it is not worth $20.

Merch Review #1 - Clothes

Recently in early January R5 released new merchandise on their website. This will just be my opinions on the clothes and prices and stuff like that.

The first piece of merch I will give an opinion on is the "Sometime Last Night Circle Logo T-shirt".

($25) This shirt's collar is often very tight and it is sometimes hard to get someones head through. When the shirt is too long for some people, they sit and it feels like the shirt is choking them slightly.
The colors used are very bright and it looks very good on the white background, although I see no significance in the design. This design doesn't represent who they are or what they like so I don't really understand the purpose of it. This shirt is definitely over priced.

"Ladies All Night Moon and Stars Long Sleeve T-shirt"

($35) This shirt is soft, but thin. This isn't a shirt to wear on a cold day, although it is very comfortable. The colors are kept simple, black and white. This shirt has a design that refers to one of their songs so I can agree with a lot of people that this is a cute shirt. I would totally buy it, but it is really over priced.

"Dip Dye Beanie"

($25) This type of beanie is very thin, so I would wear it for style rather than warmth. The color used looks good, but there should have been a selection of colors if a person doesn't like a certain color. The ombre design is kept simple and the R5 tag is a nice touch. This is something i would buy, but come on. $25 for a beanie?

Sometime Last Night in San Diego

Last night I went to the R5 concert in San Diego at the Balboa Theatre. To say the least, it was the best and most fun night ever.
Gia and Elizabeth

My friend Elizabeth left the house at around 12 and we drove about 3 hours to San Diego. During the ride there we charged our phones, and listened to music ( Fall Out Boy, Jonas Brothers and other stuff like that). When we got there it was around 3 o'clock and we had a whole hour to burn so we went into this small sushi restaurant and ate a little before we had to get into line for the Meet and Greet. When we left the sushi place we went into the line and we found Liz's internet friend and they were so happy to see each other.

While waiting for the Meet and Greet, a guy who was a part of some camera crew asked an adult to sign some form saying that we are allowed to be filmed before, during and after the concert for some kind of movie/documentary. The line was getting shorter and we were soon going to meet R5. We were getting more and more anxious because we have been waiting for this moment for so long and now it was finally going to happen. We walked into the venue and we saw five giants standing in front of the background. (To be honest they didn't look as tall as I last remembered, but they were still really tall.) We all said "hi" to each other and we all went for hugs. I started with Rydel and Ellington on the right while Liz started on the other side with Rocky and Riker. We went around with hugs until we needed to take the pictures. I handed someone my phone and asked them to take a video of the whole Meet and Greet, but that person only took some pictures which actually turned out really funny because it showed how truly nervous and scared we were to be next to our favorite band. We took a good picture and a funny one and we went to our seats for sound check.

During sound check they asked us which songs we wanted them to play. I was filming the whole thing and I didn't want to interrupt my video so i let everyone else choose. They played their songs "Wishing I was 23" and "Things Are Looking Up". In the middle of both songs they messed up and someone forgot the words to the song. Everyone had a good time and we were all getting ready to leave after we got our swag bags. Inside the swag bags was a "SLN 2016 tour" poster, a CD of "R5 Live at the Greek", and a lanyard that says "R5 VIP Experience".

*Fast Forward to the actual concert part*
Rydel singing "Lightning Strikes"
Everyone was at their seats and the opening act was about to go on. Not a lot of people knew who they were but their music was actually pretty good. After them, Ryland came out and everyone in the first two rows ran to the stage. I got to the front of everyone and we partied like there was no tomorrow. Ryland was giving out some free merch to random people and he gave me his water bottle that he drank out of that night. Some other girls snatched it from my hands and i got kinda mad because it was very clearly in my hand and they had to have it. After the awesome party with Ryland he wanted us to take a picture with him for his snapchat. I was having so much fun and then everyone had to go back to their seats to wait until R5 came on. The lights turned off and music was playing and everyone went crazy. I went so crazy I nearly passed out during some songs. I stood in the second row behind two girls that were standing between Ross and Riker. Towards the end of the concert Riker knelt down with his bass and handed me a signed guitar pick and I was so happy, but then the girls in front of me nearly broke my hand to take it from me. I held onto that guitar pick like it was my whole life and those girls took it from me. The concert ended and I was already crying because I didn't want to leave and I didn't want those girls to leave with MY guitar pick. We left the venue and I cried in the car for at least ten minutes then I realized that I didn't need a guitar pick to make me happy. I had so much fun and took so many good pictures and videos the guitar pick didn't even matter anymore. We went to In N Out at like 11 o'clock and it was the perfect ending for an amazing night.

Meet and Greets

Hello my lovely readers :) I don't really keep schedule anymore but its because I don't really know what to write about. R5 haven't really done anything crazy yet so there's not really any news yet. I'm going to their San Diego concert this weekend and I am so excited and extremely nervous. I have to drive two hours to San Diego then check in for meet and greet and VIP stuff. I have only gotten meet and greet once and it was almost two years ago so I don't really remember a lot.

For Meet and Greet I would recommend getting there 1-2 hours prior to the gates opening. This will get you to the front of the line and to take the picture with the band sooner. I also don't recommend eating or drinking too much before because when you are nervous you can get nauseous very easily. Meet and greets can last up to two to three hours. I only had to wait somewhere between an hour or an hour and a half to get two pictures with them (its usually one picture per person). After the pictures you get your swag bag and you have to wait until all of the gates open for the actual concert.

Ill get back to you guys with more details after the concert this weekend :)

Merch and Stuff

Hello my lovely readers! How was your winter break? Mine was amazing. Today I will be talking about which band merchandise is best to buy at home and which is best to buy at concerts.

In my opinion, you shouldn't buy a lot of merch at once. Why?

  1. It probably costs a lot.
  2. You will have nowhere to put it during the concert.
The only type of merch you should buy at concerts are the ones you can put on. (e.g. a necklace, bracelet, shirt, sweater etc.) The sweaters R5 sell on their website are very warm so I wouldn't buy a sweater before and during the concert, I would buy it after. Shirts are very tempting to buy, I would buy them either during the concert or not at all because the merch people run to are the shirts. Shirts are the pieces of merchandise that sell out the fastest. Necklaces and bracelets are the best to buy because they are small and you can wear them everywhere and it is a constant reminder of where you were.

The best merch to buy at home are the big posters and the seasonal merch. The seasonal merch wont be at any concert and it is very limited.
